Description

A comforting, cheesy casserole featuring tender chicken, savory ranch seasoning, and crispy golden tater tots baked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts – 680 g (1½ lb), cooked and diced

  • Frozen tater tots – 900 g (2 lb)

  • Shredded cheddar cheese – 300 g (3 cups), divided

  • Ranch seasoning mix – 40 g (about 3 tablespoons)

  • Cream of chicken soup – 300 g (1¼ cups)

  • Sour cream – 240 g (1 cup)

  • Milk – 120 ml (½ cup)

  • Garlic powder – 5 g (1 teaspoon)

  • Onion powder – 5 g (1 teaspoon)

  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

  • Salt – ½ teaspoon

  • Unsalted butter – 30 g (2 tablespoons), melted


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and lightly grease a 23 x 33 cm (9 x 13 inch) baking dish.

  • In a large bowl, mix the chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  • Stir in 200 g (2 cups) of the shredded cheddar cheese.

  • Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

  • Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the chicken mixture.

  • Drizzle the melted butter over the tater tots and sprinkle with the remaining 100 g (1 cup) cheddar cheese.

  • Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until the tater tots are golden and the casserole is bubbly.

  • Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
