A rich yet simple salmon dish cooked in a fragrant garlic butter sauce with lemon and fresh herbs, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces / 170 g each)

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 5 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)

Instructions

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Place salmon in the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and nearly cooked through.

  • Reduce heat to low, add butter, and allow it to melt.

  • Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30–40 seconds.

  • Add lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, and thyme. Spoon the sauce over the salmon for 1 minute.

  • Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Avoid overcooking to keep the salmon moist and tender.

  • Use fresh lemon for the best flavor.

  • This dish pairs well with vegetables, rice, or potatoes.
