1 pound ground turkey

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed

1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes

½ cup low-sodium chicken broth or water

Juice of 1 lime

8–10 small corn or flour tortillas

Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced avocado, diced red onion, shredded cheese, salsa
Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook until no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Push the turkey to one side of the skillet and add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3–4 minutes. Combine with the turkey.

Sprinkle in cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and dried oregano. Stir well to coat the turkey evenly with spices.

Add black beans, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth. Stir and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10–12 minutes until slightly thickened.

Stir in lime juice and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or extra cayenne if desired.

Warm tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat or wrap in foil and heat in the oven for 5–7 minutes.
