Description

These spicy, cheesy sausage balls are inspired by classic jalapeño poppers, offering bold flavor and creamy heat in every bite. Perfect for parties, snacks, or casual gatherings.


Ingredients

  • Beef or turkey sausage – 450 g (1 lb)

  • Cream cheese, softened – 225 g (8 oz)

  • Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded – 200 g (2 cups)

  • Fresh jalapeños, finely diced – 40 g (¼ cup, about 2 medium)

  • All-purpose flour – 125 g (1 cup)

  • Garlic powder – 5 g (1 teaspoon)

  • Onion powder – 5 g (1 teaspoon)

  • Smoked paprika – 3 g (½ teaspoon)

  • Black pepper – 2 g (½ teaspoon)

  • Salt – to taste (optional)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, combine sausage and cream cheese until well mixed.

  • Add shredded cheddar, jalapeños, and all spices; mix thoroughly.

  • Gradually add flour and mix until a thick dough forms.

  • Roll into 25 g (1 tablespoon) balls and place on the baking sheet.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.

  • Let rest briefly before serving warm.

Notes

Adjust jalapeños to control heat level. These sausage balls can be made ahead, refrigerated, or frozen for convenient serving later.
