Ingredients
-
12 oz shell pasta
-
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
-
Salt & pepper, to taste
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
1 tsp Cajun seasoning (optional for heat)
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
3 tbsp unsalted butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
½ cup chicken broth
-
¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
1 tsp dried parsley (or fresh if preferred)
Instructions
-
Cook the shell pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
-
In a medium bowl, season chicken strips with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and Cajun seasoning if using. Toss to coat evenly.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
-
Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
Stir in Parmesan and cheddar cheeses until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
-
Add cooked pasta and chicken back into the skillet. Toss gently to coat everything evenly with the sauce.
-
Garnish with parsley and serve immediately while warm.
Notes
-
For extra flavor, try roasting the garlic before adding it to the sauce.
-
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best texture and taste.
-
For a spicier version, increase the Cajun seasoning or add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
-
This dish pairs well with a simple side salad, roasted vegetables, or garlic bread.
-
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently and add a splash of cream or broth if needed.
