Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons neutral cooking oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger

  • 2 tablespoons Korean chili paste

  • 1 tablespoon Korean chili flakes

  • 6 cups beef stock

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 12 ounces beef sirloin or ribeye, thinly sliced

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms

  • 2 packs ramen noodles (about 6 ounces total)

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 green onions, sliced

  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds


Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pot over medium heat and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.

  • Stir in chili paste and chili flakes; cook briefly.

  • Add beef stock, soy sauce, and sugar; simmer for 10 minutes.

  • Add mushrooms and cook 3 minutes.

  • Add beef and sesame oil; cook until tender.

  • Cook ramen noodles in the broth until just done.

  • Soft-boil eggs separately, peel, and halve.

  • Serve ramen topped with eggs, green onions, and sesame seeds.

Notes

Adjust spice levels to taste and always cook noodles fresh for the best texture.
