Description
A comforting French-inspired chicken dish simmered in a creamy non-alcoholic apple cider sauce with tender apples and herbs.
Ingredients

4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (900 g / 2 lb)

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 shallots, sliced (60 g / 2 oz)

3 garlic cloves, minced

2 medium apples, sliced (300 g / 10.5 oz)

1½ cups non-alcoholic apple cider (360 ml)

1 cup chicken broth (240 ml)

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

½ cup heavy cream (120 ml)
Instructions

Season chicken with salt and pepper. Sear in olive oil until golden, then remove.

Melt butter in the same pan. Cook shallots and garlic until fragrant.

Add apples, apple cider, broth, mustard, and thyme.

Return chicken to the pan and simmer gently until cooked through.

Stir in cream, simmer briefly, and serve warm.
