Description

A rich and comforting pasta dish featuring tender fettuccine coated in a bold, creamy tomato and beef sauce, perfect for hearty family meals.

Ingredients

  • Fettuccine pasta – 12 oz (340 g)

  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons

  • Onion, finely diced – 1 medium (150 g)

  • Carrot, finely diced – 1 medium (100 g)

  • Celery stalk, finely diced – 1 stalk (50 g)

  • Garlic cloves, minced – 4 cloves

  • Ground beef – 1 lb (450 g)

  • Tomato paste – 3 tablespoons

  • Crushed tomatoes – 28 oz (800 g)

  • Heavy cream – 1 cup (240 ml)

  • Dried oregano – 1 teaspoon

  • Dried basil – 1 teaspoon

  • Paprika – ½ teaspoon

  • Salt – 1½ teaspoons

  • Black pepper – ¾ teaspoon

  • Grated Parmesan-style cheese – ¾ cup (75 g)

  • Fresh parsley – ¼ cup (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook fettuccine in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup (120 ml) pasta water, drain, and set aside.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion, carrot, and celery for 6–8 minutes until soft.

  • Add garlic and cook briefly, then add ground beef and cook until browned.

  • Stir in tomato paste and cook 2 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes and seasonings. Simmer 20 minutes on low heat.

  • Pour in heavy cream and simmer 5–7 minutes until creamy.

  • Add cooked fettuccine and toss to coat, using pasta water if needed.

  • Stir in grated cheese, garnish, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Finely chopped vegetables create a smoother sauce texture.

  • Adjust thickness with reserved pasta water as needed.

  • Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers reheat well with a splash of liquid.
