Description

There’s something special about the comforting aroma of freshly baked Pizza Rolls wafting through the kitchen. Each golden, bite-sized roll is filled with gooey melted cheese, flavorful sauce, and your favorite toppings—all wrapped in a perfectly crispy crust. Whether you’re hosting a game night, preparing after-school snacks, or planning an easy family dinner, these homemade Pizza Rolls are a guaranteed hit. They’re simple to make, customizable, and far more delicious than any frozen version you’ll find at the store.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)

  • 1 cup pizza sauce

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup diced turkey pepperoni or chopped veggies (like bell peppers or mushrooms)

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

  • Marinara sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a 12×8-inch rectangle.

  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving ½ inch of space around the edges.

  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and your choice of toppings over the sauce.

  • Add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes for extra flavor.

  • Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log shape, similar to a cinnamon roll.

  • Slice the log into 1-inch pieces using a sharp knife.

  • Place rolls cut side down on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Brush the tops with olive oil or butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

  • Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • Make ahead: Assemble the rolls up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.

  • Air fryer method: Cook at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway for even crispiness.

  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer.

  • Freezing: Freeze unbaked rolls on a tray, then store in a freezer bag. Bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cook time.

  • Variations: Try filling with diced chicken, spinach and ricotta, or roasted vegetables for new flavor twists.
