A perfect fall treat, these Maple Glazed Pumpkin Muffins are moist, flavorful, and infused with warm spices. Topped with a sweet maple glaze, they’re ideal for cozy mornings, festive brunches, or an afternoon snack. The combination of pumpkin and spices evokes the comfort of autumn, while the maple glaze adds a touch of indulgence that makes every bite memorable.

Ingredients

Scale

Muffins

  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves

  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (fresh or canned)

  • ½ cup vegetable oil or melted coconut oil

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup milk (any variety)

Maple Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

  • 12 teaspoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it with butter or non-stick spray.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.

  • In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth, then gradually add milk until incorporated.

  • Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  • Spoon the batter into muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon sugar on top.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Rotate the pan halfway through for even baking.

  • While muffins cool, prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk in a small bowl. Adjust consistency as needed.

  • Drizzle the glaze over slightly cooled muffins and let it set for a few minutes before serving.

  • Serve warm with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Optionally, top with chopped pecans or a dusting of cinnamon.

Notes

  • Use fresh ground spices for the best flavor.

  • Avoid overmixing the batter to keep muffins light and airy.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.

  • Muffins can be reheated in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to refresh.
