Description

If you’re looking for a perfect combination of tangy, zesty, and sweet, these Lemon Pepper Wings with a Sweet Honey Twist are the ultimate crowd-pleaser. Ideal for game nights, family dinners, or casual gatherings, these wings are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and finished with a lightly sweet honey glaze that perfectly balances the bright lemon pepper seasoning. Easy to make yet packed with flavor, this recipe transforms ordinary chicken wings into a dish that feels both special and comforting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 2 teaspoons onion powder

  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest (from about 2 lemons)

  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)

  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack for even cooking.

  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they crisp properly.

  • In a large bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon zest, and paprika if using. Mix thoroughly.

  • Add the chicken wings to the bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss gently to coat evenly with the seasoning mixture.

  • Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack, leaving space between each piece.

  • Bake the wings for 40–45 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure both sides become golden and crispy.

  • While the wings bake, whisk together honey and fresh lemon juice in a small bowl until smooth to prepare the glaze.

  • Transfer the fully cooked wings to a large mixing bowl and drizzle with the honey lemon glaze. Toss gently to coat evenly.

  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for color and freshness.

  • Serve immediately while hot and crispy with your favorite dipping sauce or a fresh side salad.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end of baking while watching closely to prevent burning.

  • Adjust the honey to make the glaze sweeter or more tangy to taste.

  • These wings can also be cooked in an air fryer at 380°F for 25–30 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best texture.

  • Marinating the wings in the seasoning mixture for 30 minutes before baking enhances flavor and tenderness.
