Description

A comforting and indulgent twist on classic spaghetti, served inside crispy, buttery garlic bread bowls for the ultimate carb lover’s dream.

Ingredients

Scale

12 ounces (340 g) spaghetti
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound (450 g) lean ground beef or ground turkey
1 small yellow onion, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 jar (24 ounces / 680 g) marinara sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup (50 g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
4 large round bread loaves (67 inches wide each)
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup (50 g) shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and toss with olive oil.

Brown ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and cook briefly.

Add marinara sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer 10–15 minutes.

Toss cooked spaghetti with sauce. Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Slice tops off bread loaves and hollow out centers, leaving a 1-inch shell.

Mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt. Brush inside bread bowls.

Pre-bake bread bowls for 8–10 minutes.

Fill bowls with spaghetti mixture and top with remaining mozzarella.

Bake 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is golden.

Cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

Use sturdy sourdough or artisan bread for best results. Pre-baking the bowls prevents sogginess. Customize the filling with vegetables or extra cheese as desired.
