Description

A simple, flavorful, handheld twist on classic tacos, perfect for quick dinners, snacks, or entertaining.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or ground chicken

  • 1 packet (1 oz / 28 g) taco seasoning

  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) water

  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks

  • 1 can (13.8 oz / 390 g) refrigerated pizza dough

  • 1 tbsp (14 g) melted butter

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional dips: salsa, guacamole, sour cream


Instructions

  • Cook ground beef or chicken in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess liquid.

  • Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer 3–4 minutes until thickened.

  • Roll out pizza dough and cut into 8 rectangles.

  • Place one cheese stick and a spoonful of taco meat on each piece of dough.

  • Roll tightly, sealing edges well.

  • Place on a baking sheet and brush with melted butter.

  • Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, and salt on top.

  • Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12–15 minutes until golden.

  • Cool slightly and serve with dips.

Notes

Seal the dough tightly to prevent cheese from leaking. You may substitute other dough types such as biscuit or crescent dough. Low-moisture mozzarella works best for clean melting.
