Description

This Instant Pot Turkey Breast recipe delivers a juicy, tender turkey in a fraction of the time it takes to roast in the oven. Perfect for family dinners, holiday meals, or any time you want a flavorful, hassle-free main dish, this recipe uses aromatic herbs and spices to create a succulent turkey breast that’s both easy and impressive. With minimal prep and hands-off cooking, the Instant Pot makes turkey simple, convenient, and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (4–5 pounds) boneless turkey breast

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • 1 teaspoon dried sage

  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small onion, quartered

  • 23 fresh parsley sprigs

  • Optional: 1 teaspoon smoked paprika for extra flavor

Instructions

  • Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels to ensure the seasoning sticks.

  • Combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, rosemary, and sage. Rub evenly over the turkey breast.

  • Set the Instant Pot to “Sauté” mode, add olive oil, and sear the turkey breast on all sides for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.

  • Remove the turkey breast and pour 1 cup chicken broth into the pot, scraping the bottom to release browned bits.

  • Add quartered onion, minced garlic, and parsley sprigs to the broth.

  • Place the turkey breast on top of the aromatics, close the lid, and set the valve to “Sealing.” Cook on high pressure for 25–30 minutes depending on the size.

  • Allow a natural release for 10–15 minutes to keep the turkey juicy.

  • Optional: Transfer turkey to a baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and broil for 3–5 minutes for a crisp exterior.

  • Rest the turkey for 10 minutes before slicing.

  • Slice and serve with sides, drizzling with the Instant Pot juices if desired.

Notes

  • Allow turkey to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking for even results.

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  • Season generously with herbs and spices for optimal flavor.

  • Save the Instant Pot juices for gravy or to drizzle over the turkey.

  • Broil briefly if you want a crispier outer layer.

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 25–30 minutes (plus 10–15 minutes natural release)
