Ingredients
-
1 whole turkey breast (3–4 pounds), bone-in or boneless
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 teaspoons salt
-
1 teaspoon black pepper
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
1 teaspoon paprika
Honey Glaze
-
½ cup honey
-
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
-
2 tablespoons butter, melted
-
1 tablespoon brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon ground thyme
-
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Garnish (optional)
-
Fresh thyme, rosemary, or parsley
-
Orange or lemon slices
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a roasting pan with foil and place a rack inside to allow for even cooking and easy cleanup.
-
Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. Rub it with olive oil, then season evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
-
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, Dijon mustard, melted butter, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, thyme, and smoked paprika. Stir until smooth, then remove from heat.
-
Place the turkey breast on the prepared rack and brush with half of the honey glaze. Reserve the rest for later.
-
Roast uncovered for 45 minutes. Remove from oven, baste with the remaining glaze, and continue roasting for another 30–45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
-
Remove the turkey from the oven and tent loosely with foil. Let rest for 10–15 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
-
Slice the turkey breast against the grain and drizzle with any extra glaze from the pan. Garnish with herbs and citrus slices before serving.
Notes
-
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey reaches 165°F for perfect doneness.
-
Boneless turkey breasts cook slightly faster, so begin checking for doneness around the 1-hour mark.
-
If the glaze starts to brown too quickly, cover the turkey loosely with foil during the last 20–30 minutes of roasting.
-
Leftover turkey can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
-
For added brightness, stir a teaspoon of orange zest into the glaze before brushing it on.
