Ingredients

Scale

6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 1 kg / 2.2 lbs)

120 ml (1/2 cup) BBQ sauce

80 ml (1/3 cup) honey

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

Pat chicken thighs dry and season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder.

Mix BBQ sauce, honey, tomato paste, garlic, and lemon juice in a bowl.

Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear chicken skin-side down for 5–7 minutes until crispy.

Flip chicken and cook for another 3 minutes.

Pour sauce over chicken and coat evenly.

Cover and simmer for 25–30 minutes until cooked through.

Remove lid and cook for 5–10 minutes to thicken and caramelize the sauce.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by modifying the amount of honey

For extra flavor, marinate chicken in the sauce before cooking
