Description

A comforting, hearty pasta casserole inspired by classic pizza flavors, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) penne or rotini pasta

  • 4 cups (960 ml) tomato pasta sauce

  • 1 cup (240 ml) pizza sauce

  • 2 cups (300 g) cooked diced chicken or turkey sausage alternative

  • 1 cup (110 g) sliced black olives

  • 1 cup (130 g) diced bell peppers

  • 1 cup (120 g) diced onions

  • 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Cook pasta until al dente, drain, and set aside.

  • Sauté onions and bell peppers in olive oil.

  • Add cooked chicken or turkey sausage alternative.

  • Stir in pasta sauce, pizza sauce, herbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.

  • Add pasta to sauce mixture and combine.

  • Layer half the mixture in a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Sprinkle half the cheese.

  • Add remaining pasta and top with remaining cheese.

  • Bake 20–25 minutes until bubbly.

  • Rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Add vegetables of your choice for extra nutrition.

  • Use whole-wheat or legume pasta for a healthier option.

  • Bake uncovered for a crispier top layer.
