A quick and comforting sandwich that combines classic cheesesteak flavors with the ease of sloppy joes, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 medium onion, finely diced

  • 1 green bell pepper, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire-style sauce (non-alcoholic)

  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 cup beef broth

  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

  • 4 sandwich buns


Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Sauté onion and bell pepper until softened.

  • Add garlic and cook briefly.

  • Brown the ground beef, breaking it apart.

  • Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder.

  • Stir in Worcestershire-style sauce, ketchup, mustard, and beef broth.

  • Simmer until slightly thickened.

  • Sprinkle cheese on top, cover, and let melt.

  • Stir gently and serve on toasted buns.

Notes

Toast the buns for best texture. Store leftover filling separately from buns for easy reheating and assembly later.
