Ingredients
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1 ½ pounds / 680 g)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 ½ cups fresh strawberries (225 g), sliced
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons lemon juice
¼ cup chicken broth (60 ml)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
Instructions
Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
Add strawberries, honey, lemon juice, chicken broth, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.
Stir in chopped basil and red pepper flakes.
Return the chicken to the pan and spoon sauce over the top.
Simmer for another 2–3 minutes and serve warm.
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for the best natural sweetness.
Chicken thighs can be substituted for chicken breasts if desired.
If the sauce becomes too thick, add a tablespoon of chicken broth while reheating.
Fresh basil provides the best flavor and aroma for this dish.
