Description

A rich and comforting pasta dish perfect for cozy dinners at home. Tender steak bites, pillowy cheese tortellini, and a silky garlic cream sauce come together to create a restaurant-quality meal that’s easy to make and full of flavor. Ideal for weeknight dinners, family meals, or special occasions when you want something indulgent without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) cheese tortellini, fresh or refrigerated

  • 1 lb (450 g) steak (sirloin, ribeye, or your favorite cut), cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak pieces with salt and pepper. Sear in the skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until golden-brown. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Cook onions for 2–3 minutes until translucent, then add garlic and cook 1 more minute until fragrant.

  • Pour in heavy cream and broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer. Add Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir until cheese melts and sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Return steak and tortellini to the skillet. Gently toss to coat evenly with the sauce. Add butter and stir until melted and incorporated.

  • Remove from heat. Sprinkle parsley and thyme over the top. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh pasta for a softer texture and richer flavor.

  • Adjust garlic and seasoning to taste.

  • Reheat leftovers on the stove with a splash of cream or broth to maintain sauce consistency.

  • Optional vegetables like spinach or mushrooms can be added for extra flavor and nutrients.
