Description

A comforting and indulgent pasta dish perfect for weeknights or cozy dinners. Tender steak bites, al dente penne, crisp broccoli, and sweet cherry tomatoes are tossed in a luscious garlic cream sauce that’s rich, savory, and full of flavor. This skillet meal is easy to prepare and sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz penne pasta

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized cubes

  • Salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cups broccoli florets

  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ¾ cup whole milk

  • 1¼ cups shredded parmesan cheese

  • Optional: parsley, red pepper flakes, cracked black pepper

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • Steam or roast the broccoli: Toss florets with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes or steam until tender-crisp.

  • Season steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steak bites until browned and cooked to your liking (3–5 minutes). Remove and set aside.

  • Make the creamy garlic sauce: Melt butter in the same skillet. Sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream and milk, simmer for 3–4 minutes. Add parmesan cheese and stir until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

  • Combine everything: Return steak, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and penne to the skillet. Toss gently to coat evenly in the sauce.

  • Garnish with parsley, cracked black pepper, or red pepper flakes. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use sirloin or ribeye for best results; ribeye is richer, sirloin is leaner.

  • Cook pasta al dente for best texture.

  • Frozen vegetables can be used; adjust cooking time to avoid overcooking.

  • Sauce can be prepared ahead of time; reheat gently and combine with freshly seared steak.

  • Optional toppings like toasted pine nuts or extra parmesan can add texture and flavor.
