Description

This creamy crockpot chicken and gravy dish is the ultimate comfort meal for busy weeknights or cozy weekends. Tender chicken simmers in a rich, flavorful gravy that’s perfectly creamy and satisfying. With minimal prep and maximum flavor, it’s a set-it-and-forget-it recipe the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)

  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  • Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot in an even layer.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.

  • Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated.

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until chicken is tender.

  • Remove chicken and shred with two forks, then return it to the crockpot.

  • Stir in sour cream until fully blended and creamy.

  • Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Allow to warm for an additional 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Do not skip simmering after adding sour cream to achieve a smooth, creamy gravy.

  • Add paprika or additional herbs for extra flavor if desired.

  • For best results, thaw frozen chicken before cooking.

  • Can be served over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or with dinner rolls for a complete meal.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 6 hours on LOW or 3 hours on HIGH
