Description

This creamy, cheesy, and indulgent Crockpot Crack Chicken is the ultimate comfort food. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner, a family gathering, or any time you want a flavorful, effortless meal. Slow-cooked to tender perfection, this dish combines chicken, cream cheese, cheddar, and savory ranch seasoning into a rich sauce that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or 2 tablespoons homemade ranch seasoning)
1/2 cup cooked and crumbled chicken sausage or chicken bacon (optional)
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
34 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for a slight kick

Instructions

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  • Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot and add chunks of softened cream cheese on top.

  • Sprinkle ranch seasoning evenly, then add half of the shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheeses.

  • Pour the milk and sour cream over the mixture.

  • Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours. Halfway through, gently stir to combine the ingredients.

  • About 30 minutes before the end, sprinkle the remaining cheddar and Parmesan cheeses on top.

  • Check that the chicken is cooked through (165°F), then shred with two forks or leave whole.

  • Garnish with sliced green onions and optional crushed red pepper flakes.

  • Serve over rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or with roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • Use fresh, high-quality chicken for the best flavor and texture.

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps in the sauce.

  • Experiment with cheeses like mozzarella or gouda for a different flavor.

  • Homemade ranch seasoning can be made with parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

  • Shredded chicken absorbs the sauce better, but whole pieces work for a chunkier texture.

  • Add a splash of milk when reheating leftovers to restore creaminess.
