A comforting bowl featuring tender seasoned steak served over creamy sweet potato mash, perfect for a satisfying and balanced meal.


Ingredients

  • pounds beef steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin

  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • ½ cup warm milk

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  • Boil sweet potatoes in salted water for 15–18 minutes until fork-tender. Drain well.

  • Mash sweet potatoes with butter, warm milk, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Keep warm.

  • Toss steak with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cumin.

  • Sear steak in a hot skillet over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes per side.

  • Assemble bowls with sweet mash on the bottom and steak on top. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with fresh herbs or add sautéed vegetables. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve immediately for best texture.
