Ingredients
-
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
-
8 ounces brie cheese
-
1/2 cup cranberry sauce
-
1 tablespoon honey
-
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
-
Fresh thyme leaves (optional)
-
1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Unfold the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and roll slightly to smooth creases. Cut into 12 equal squares.
-
Cut the brie into 12 cubes, about 1 inch each. Remove rind if desired.
-
Place a brie cube in the center of each pastry square. Top with a teaspoon of cranberry sauce and sprinkle with nuts if using.
-
Bring the corners of each square toward the center, leaving some topping visible. Brush edges with beaten egg to seal.
-
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Watch closely to avoid over-browning.
-
Remove from oven and let cool 2-3 minutes. Drizzle with honey and garnish with fresh thyme leaves. Serve warm.
Notes
-
Assemble ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours, bake just before serving.
-
Customize toppings with fig jam, apricot preserves, or pomegranate seeds.
-
For a nut-free version, omit the nuts.
-
Use high-quality brie for best flavor and melting texture.
-
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 2 days and reheated in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
