Description

A deeply savory and satisfying noodle dish made with tender slow-cooked beef and Korean-inspired flavors, perfect for cozy family meals.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 900 g (2 lb) beef chuck, cut into chunks

  • 480 ml (2 cups) low-sodium beef broth

  • 120 ml (1/2 cup) low-sodium soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 120 ml (1/2 cup) Asian pear or apple puree

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water

  • 340 g (12 oz) dried egg noodles or wheat noodles

  • 3 green onions, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)


Instructions

  • Add beef and onion to the slow cooker.

  • Mix broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, fruit puree, garlic, and ginger, then pour over beef.

  • Cook on low for 7–8 hours or high for 4–5 hours.

  • Shred beef and return it to the sauce.

  • Stir in cornstarch mixture and thicken for 15–20 minutes.

  • Cook noodles separately, drain, and add to the slow cooker.

  • Toss gently and serve with garnishes.

Notes

This dish reheats beautifully and tastes even better the next day. Adjust sweetness and seasoning to your preference before serving.
