Ingredients

900 g (2 lb) beef chuck, cut into chunks

480 ml (2 cups) low-sodium beef broth

120 ml (1/2 cup) low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons sesame oil

2 tablespoons brown sugar

120 ml (1/2 cup) Asian pear or apple puree

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 medium onion, sliced

1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water

340 g (12 oz) dried egg noodles or wheat noodles

3 green onions, sliced

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions

Add beef and onion to the slow cooker.

Mix broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, fruit puree, garlic, and ginger, then pour over beef.

Cook on low for 7–8 hours or high for 4–5 hours.

Shred beef and return it to the sauce.

Stir in cornstarch mixture and thicken for 15–20 minutes.

Cook noodles separately, drain, and add to the slow cooker.

Toss gently and serve with garnishes.
Notes
This dish reheats beautifully and tastes even better the next day. Adjust sweetness and seasoning to your preference before serving.
