Description

There’s something irresistibly comforting about a bowl of creamy, garlicky pasta topped with tender chicken and a generous dusting of Parmesan cheese. This Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with Garlic & Parmesan is perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner, a family gathering, or a special weekend treat. Inspired by classic Italian flavors, this dish combines the rich creaminess of Alfredo sauce with the subtle aroma of sautéed garlic, making it both indulgent and approachable. With simple ingredients, you can create a luxurious, restaurant-quality meal that will delight everyone at the table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for garnish

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining, then set the pasta aside.

  • Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic, sautéing for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a small amount of reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency. Add crushed red pepper flakes if desired.

  • Add the cooked fettuccine and chicken to the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently until every strand of pasta is coated. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.

  • Divide the pasta among plates or bowls. Garnish with extra Parmesan and chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest, creamiest sauce.

  • Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce consistency if needed.

  • Add vegetables like broccoli or spinach for extra color and nutrition.

  • Do not overcook the pasta; al dente is ideal for the best texture.
