A bold, comforting tray of crispy tortilla chips layered with seasoned beef and melted cheese, perfect for sharing on any occasion.
Ingredients

Tortilla chips – 300 g (10 oz)

Ground beef – 500 g (1 lb)

Olive oil – 1 tablespoon

Onion – 1 medium, finely diced (150 g)

Garlic – 3 cloves, minced

Paprika – 1 teaspoon

Ground cumin – 1 teaspoon

Chili powder – 1 teaspoon

Salt – 1 teaspoon

Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

Tomato paste – 2 tablespoons

Water – 60 ml (¼ cup)

Cheddar cheese – 200 g (7 oz), grated

Mozzarella cheese – 150 g (5 oz), grated
Instructions

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion until soft, then add garlic.

Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

Stir in paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, tomato paste, and water. Simmer until thick.

Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).

Layer half the chips on a lined baking tray. Add half the cheese and half the beef.

Repeat layers with remaining chips, cheese, and beef.

Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve immediately with desired toppings.
Notes
Use sturdy tortilla chips to prevent breakage. Freshly grated cheese melts best. Add fresh toppings after baking to keep chips crisp.
