For the Apple Filling:

For the Oatmeal Streusel Topping:

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

¾ cup all-purpose flour

¾ cup light brown sugar, packed

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or a deep pie dish.

In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour until evenly coated. Spread into the prepared baking dish.

In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the mixture with a pastry cutter or your hands until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the apple mixture.

Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
