A crispy, comforting classic made easier and lighter in the air fryer, perfect for busy weeknights or relaxed family dinners.
Ingredients

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound / 450 g)

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ cup all-purpose flour (60 g)

2 large eggs
-
1 tablespoon water
-
1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs (60 g)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (50 g)

¾ cup marinara sauce (180 ml)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (100 g)

Olive oil spray
Instructions

Slice chicken breasts horizontally into thin cutlets and pat dry. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.

Place flour in one bowl. Whisk eggs and water in a second bowl. Mix breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in a third bowl.

Dredge chicken in flour, dip into egg mixture, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.

Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Spray basket lightly with olive oil.

Arrange chicken in a single layer, spray tops lightly, and air fry for 8 minutes.

Flip chicken, spray again, and cook for 5–7 more minutes until golden and cooked through.

Top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Return to air fryer and cook for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted.

Rest briefly before serving.
